As a solo artist, BJ works and performs his own music in venues across Ballarat and Victoria. In 2023, BJ was the headline act at the Ballarat Begonia Festival, performed multiple sets across two days at Sovereign Hill's Heritage Harvest Festival, and was also a fringe artist in Ballarat's 2023 Be Hear/Now festival, performing 'Wonderland' live with a band for the first time.

BJ independently released his first EP 'Doors' in 2017, followed by 'Wonderland' released in four parts throughout 2022 before being released in full in January 2023. He is currently writing music for his yet-to-be-named sophomore album, due to be recorded in late 2024.

In 2022, BJ was co-owner of Collage Studios, located in the heart of Ballarat's CBD. Developing this space as a recording, mixing, playing and teaching space, BJ was integral to the success of this space as a working recording studio. It was here that BJ produced the majority of 'Wonderland', while also recording and mixing Apex Bloom's upcoming album 'Collage' and demos for folk duo Haven City. Collage Studios featured a fully treated live tracking room for bands to record their songs the same way they would perform them live on stage, as well as an open space perfect for recording acoustic singer-songwriters, strings and horns.

Formed in 2017, Apex Bloom is a Ballarat-based prog-rock band, exploring the progressive rock sounds of Pink Floyd with the modern flair of Gang Of Youths.

Following the success of their 2020 album 'Yesterday's a Universe Away', Apex Bloom released two singles in 2022, 'Convenience Store' and 'Living Without You', and 'Outside' in 2023, all from their upcoming album 'Collage', mixed, mastered and produced by BJ Humphrey.

Ballarat's very own 60s surf-rock cover band, performing instrumental hits by the Ventures, The Shadows, The Atlantics and Dick Dale, and singing the hits of The Beach Boys.

Performances include at the Grampians 'Grape Escape' 2023, Ballarat Begonia Festival 2020 and 2024, Sovereign Hill's Heritage Harvest Festival 2023 and Swan Hill's 'Brew & Chew' festival 2024.

Shell Yeah can also be heard regularly performing in Ballarat local venues and pubs including Cubby Haus Brewing and Hop Temple.

Fronted by 'Lazenby Young Blues Guitarist of the Year' Rhiannon Simpson, The Triple Delta's blues rock sound is infused with their upbringing as a funk jam band. In 2018 they released their debut EP 'Songs For Straight Girls', mixed and produced by BJ Humphrey.

Since 2014, Sound Mountain have brought their power trio of grooves and psychedelic jams to stages across Victoria. In 2020 they released their 2nd album 'Trouble', mixed and produced by BJ Humphrey, followed by an EP of b-sides, 'Mad Snout Union'.

Comprised of Ballarat locals Sarah Spaven and BJ Humphrey, Haven City combine witty narrative with organic rock. The duo honed their creative abilities during their time as co-owners of Collage Studios, with significant performances including appearing at Ballarat's 'Summer Sundays', Sovereign Hill's 'Heritage Harvest Festival', and as a fringe act at 2023's Be Hear/Now Festival.
